About Us

JAMESTOWN SOCCER ASSOCIATION

The Jamestown Soccer Association (JSA) was founded in 1980 to organize and sponsor a recreational youth soccer league for the Jamestown RI community. Now JSA also sponsors a competitive program in the spring and fall for more serious and skilled players.

Our recreational program starts after Labor Day weekend, and runs through the end of October. All games are played on Eldred field and structured for a fun learning experience for kids of all ages. Our competitive programs are travel leagues offered in the Fall and the Spring which allow our teams to play against other soccer associations throughout the state as well as participate in soccer festivals and tournaments. Rhode Island Youth Super Liga (RIYSL) www.thesuperliga.com is the organization that helps coordinate the state-wide competitive program. The have established divisions based on player skill levels to ensure teams are playing against similar teams.

JSA is run by volunteer board of directors and numerous volunteer coaches and funded through player participation fees, team sponsorships, and concession stand sales on game days.

Although the physical land is owned by the town, JSA is responsible for the Eldred Avenue fields, including equipment purchases and field maintenance. Prior to every Fall and Spring season, JSA volunteers must design, layout and paint perimeter lines for the fields and coordinate a re-painting each week.

Community and parent support are key to our ability to run a successful youth soccer program for Jamestown. Please contact a us today at jamestownsoccerri@gmail.com to see how you can help.
